Clearly an enthusiastic football fan, Daniel Tan embraces the fullness of life despite his condition as a quadriplegia, in much the same way that international sporting tournaments embrace people and audiences from all walks of life. In celebration of the forthcoming World Cup 2014 Football tournament in Brazil later this year, Tan's Büffel entitled World Cup is a celebration of life, with his compilation of multi-national flags from all over the world painted on his figurine. It is grand-scale occasions such as this when people from all corners of the world will be united with one common interest, regardless of race, religion or disability.

About the Artist

A car accident in 1982 confined Daniel to the wheelchair permanently. Daniel took up painting with the help from his friend and pushed himself to learn how to paint with a brush in his mouth. Daniel starts taking lesson in NAFA and even seeks out various art teachers to learn different techniques like oil, watercolour and acrylic.
